LEXINGTON, Ky. (KT) - Lexington Police Department is continuing a search for suspects in the city’s second double-homicide in less than a week.

Police spokesperson Brenna Angel says officers responded Saturday afternoon to the area of Winchester Road and Seventh Street. Callers reported seeing shots fired from a light-colored SUV at a passenger car. The three occupants of the car, all 18-year-old males, were struck and transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital for their injuries.

Two of the victims, Dwayne Slaughter and Darrian Webb, were pronounced dead at the hospital. The condition of the third has not been released.

Last Wednesday morning around 11, police were sent to an apartment building in the 1300 block of Alexandria Drive for a welfare check after an anonymous caller reported that a relative of theirs had been shot, and officers found the victims dead inside an apartment.

The Fayette County Coroner has identified the pair as 24-year-old Marquis Dorell Harris and 25-year-old Sharmaine Shardea Carter and police say the two may have been dead for several hours before they were discovered.

No arrests have been reported in either incident. Lexington police urge anyone with information on either of the cases to call them at (859) 258-3600. Anonymous tips, including photos and videos, can be submitted by texting LEXPD plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). Information can also be sent anonymously through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020 or www.bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.
