FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) - Western Hills graduate and Kentucky’s reigning Mr. Football, Wan’Dale Robinson, was cited by University of Nebraska police for possession of marijuana late Sunday night, according to a report in the Lincoln (Nebraska) Journal Star.
Robinson is a freshman at Nebraska and a member of the Cornhuskers’ football team.
The newspaper reported that police were called to Robinson’s on-campus room after a community service officer reported the smell of marijuana.
The police searched Robinson’s car, where they allegedly found the marijuana, leading to a citation for possession of less than an ounce.
An athletic department spokesman said in a statement that the department is aware of the situation and is addressing it.
Robinson has a July 9 court date but does not face any jail time, the Lincoln Journal Star story said.
Robinson finished his career at Western Hills with 6,796 rushing yards, 1,787 receiving yards and 118 touchdowns. He initially committed to the University of Kentucky before flipping to Nebraska.
