BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (KT) – REACH 2021 is taking a global approach by expanding to become the REACH Evangelism & Missions Conference in three weeks at Hillvue Heights.
It is coming through the collaborative efforts of the Kentucky Baptist Convention’s Evangelism and Missions Mobilization teams to equip those who attend to answer the call locally and globally.
Like in the past, the REACH conference will have outstanding evangelistic preaching and equipping but it will also involve attendees participating in evangelism and missions, said Rob Patterson, the KBC’s evangelism team leader. “This is the first year providing mobilization opportunities like these,” he said.
REACH 2021 will be March 15-16 with three pre-REACH Mission Mobilizations opportunities available on March 15 from 1:30-4 p.m.
The Warren Association of Baptists will welcome Kentucky Baptists to its offices for a brief time of evangelistic training and then mobilization for front-door evangelism in a targeted area as part of the association’s Gospel to Every Home effort.
More roll-up-your-sleeve opportunities will be available through prayer walking and conducting spiritual surveys on the campus of Western Kentucky University. Regional campus ministers at WKU Baptist Campus Ministry will have a time of orientation and equipping for their Gospel to Every Dorm Room plans.
A third option will be to share the gospel to refugee populations through a “Refuge Loss Simulation and Prayer Walk” hosted by Living Hope Baptist Church.
The first plenary session begins that night at 6. “Each plenary session features phenomenal local and national speakers challenging Kentucky Baptists to hear and answer the call,’” Patterson said.
The all-star list of speakers includes Danny Akin, Nate Bishop, Sam Greer, Dhati Lewis and James Emery White.
More than a dozen breakouts and a special ministry track for women are designed to equip and provide practical resources for attendees. The event culminates in a “commissioning” of those who have been encouraged and equipped to join God in fulfilling His Great Commission wherever He calls them.
