GEORGETOWN, Ky. (KT) - “Evangelist” and “illusionist” aren’t often used together.
Brock Gill is changing that.
Gill is a part of the Kentucky Baptist Convention’s Crossover initiative in early November. He’ll bring his bag of tricks to Gano Baptist Church in Georgetown on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. to mesmerize young and old alike.
Gill’s life has been radically changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ and he wants others to know. Early in life he started performing illusions at church events. This creativity captured attention and he began receiving more invitations to do what he loved.
“I finished my first show and had three invitations to perform. People just heard about it and wanted me to come to their town,” Gill said.
Since the launch of his career, he’s released a documentary, “The Miracles of Jesus,” as well as four DVDs. Making appearances on a variety of platforms, he’s been praised by many for his creative integration of illusion, stunts, and the gospel.
Gill has shared the stage with Franklin Graham, Luis Palau, John Piper, David Nasser, Adrian Rogers, Newsboys, Toby Mac, Audio Adrenaline, Third Day, Relient K, Jaci Velasquez, Skillet, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, and others, according to his website.
“Brock Gill’s magic was amazing. He owned the room the moment he came out. What was even more amazing was his gospel presentation. It wasn’t a tacked on after-thought. It was the point and I like that," Mark Hall of Casting Crowns said.
Andy McDonald, church evangelism strategist at the KBC, says he hopes this will be an exciting and fresh way for students in Kentucky to hear the gospel and to share it with their friends.
McDonald believes Gill’s illusions will be mind-blowing and his message will be heart-changing. “Brock loves Jesus and he’ll share a message that will blow people away spiritually,” he said.
There will be a free pizza dinner before the event. To register and learn more visit http://wwwr.kybaptist.org/crossover
