Ecuador mission team expected home Monday night

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KT) – The nine-member mission team from Ninth & O Baptist Church should be home Monday night, the church reported on its Facebook page.

After a safe night near the Cuenca airport, an additional flight was scheduled Sunday to Guayaquil because of high demand. The team’s flight was scheduled to leave at 6 p.m. so they could catch another 11 p.m. flight fro Guayaquil to Miami and arrive in Louisville on Monday night.

The team couldn’t make an earlier scheduled flight this weekend because of striking transportation workers who had piled dirt on roads to make them impassable. The strike apparently was settled and the team left for an overnight stay near the airport Saturday.

Ninth & O has made several past trips to the area of Tambo, which is in a mountainous region of Ecuador. Former members Chris and Carol Sills are serving there. Ring said Ninth & O has been spending mission teams there for the past 15 years.

The nine-person mission team left for Ecuador on Sept. 27.
